Dhaka, Oct 30 (UNB) – A 2-day international conference on ‘Business and Economics’ begins at Dhaka University (DU) on Monday.
DU Business Studies faculty organised the conference at Nabab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban with the theme “Interdisciplinary Solutions for Business Challenges in a new global order”, said a DU press release.
DU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr M Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the conference while Business Studies faculty Dean Prof Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam presided over the function.
Tufts University, USA Prof Partha S Ghosh delivered key note speech in the programme.
Sixteen parallel sessions will take place while more than 80 research paper will be presented in the conference.
Urging the professionals, academicians and researchers to work together for facing the global challenges the DU VC said, “Bangladesh is now facing different challenges including Rohingya crisis. We have to solve those burning problems through interdisciplinary research.”
He also hoped that the conference would create a common platform in this regard.
Academicians and researchers from USA, Canada, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore Vietnam and Bangladesh are taking part in the conference.
