Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Dakghar’ staged at IU

Islamic University, Oct 21 (UNB) – ‘Dakghar' a famous play of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore was staged at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday.

IU theatre troupe staged the drama, on the occasion of its 26th anniversary celebrations, at Birsreshtha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium around 12:00pm.

It was directed by the Troupe’s president Wahiduzzaman Shawon while
Tonmoy Sen, Shawon, Arif, Hasib, Enamul, Sabbir, Abdur Rouf, Alpona,
Mahim, and Tarik acted out the various roles.

The play represents the eagerness of Amal, a sick child kept confined in a room, to participate in the activity of life around him.

Earlier on, the members of the troupe observed its 26th anniversary by cutting cake.
